Ethyca donates Fideslang privacy taxonomy to the IAB Tech Lab

Ethyca is proud to announce the donation of  Fideslang, the privacy taxonomy to the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) Tech Lab to advance privacy and data governance in the digital advertising industry.

Why a privacy taxonomy is necessary for transparency

Over the past five years, our team of privacy engineers have built Fideslang as an open source privacy taxonomy to standardize the way legal and engineering teams describe privacy-related data categories, data uses, risks and regulations.

Donating Fideslang to the IAB Tech Lab’s  Privacy Implementation & Accountability Task Force’s Privacy Taxonomy Project will help establish a common privacy language among businesses across the advertising industry to communicate about privacy.

Ethyca CEO Cillian Kieran says, “There is a direct alignment with the Privacy Taxonomy initiative from Tech Lab and our belief that privacy can only be solved with an interoperable standard language adopted across industries. Our donation of Fideslang is with view to accelerating standardization that benefits humanity and industry alike.”

What’s next?

Ethyca is committed to creating a standard for privacy and data governance that simplifies compliance and trust for industry. Our contribution of Fideslang to the IAB will help promote transparency and understanding between regulators, businesses, and users.
